Catherine Lisa Bell is a film and TV actress born in London, England on August 14, 1968. Although born in the UK, after her parents divorced, she and her mother moved to the United States and she was raised in Los Angeles, California from the time she was 3. She is most famous and well known for portraying Lt.Colonel Sarah MacKenzie in the American TV show "JAG", in which she starred from 1997-2005. Although she had hopes of becoming a biomedical engineer and was enrolled in the University of California, she gave up higher education to pursue a career in modeling.
After working as a model in Japan she returned to the U.S. where she had her first TV acting experience in the comedy series "Sugar and Spice" (1990). Of her other TV appearances include HBO's "Dream On" (1994), "Vanishing Son" (1995), "Friends" (1995). Has appeared in movies such as "Bruce Almighty" (2003), as well as the sequel "Evan Almighty" (2007) also "The Good Witch" (2008) and "The Good Witch's Garden" (2009), both Hallmark productions. Bell currently stars in the TV series "Army Wives" which airs on Lifetime Television.
She was chosen as one of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World by FHM magazine in 2001, 2002 and 2004, as well as Maxim's Hot 100 in 2005. Bell became a Scientologist although she was raised as a Catholic. She married Adam Beason, a fellow actor and production assistant in may 1994. The two met while she was posing as a Isabella Rossellini's body double in the 1992 movie "Death Becomes Her". In April 2003 she gave birth to their first child Gemma. They are expecting to become parents yet again, this time to a boy, sometime in the summer of 2010.
